Merchant Of Venice Anticipation Guide

Don’t rely on outward appearances when making judgments. - agree
The metaphor, "Don't judge a book by it's cover", is similar to the quote above. Judging someone's outer appearance could lead to false accusations about their personality. On the Jimmy Kimmel show, he invented a game called pedestrian question. The objective of the game is to ask the pedestrian's a question and judge their appearance to see what they would answer. The result of this game perfectly supports my argument on this topic.

Justice is always blind. - disagree
Justice does not give fair treatment because justice looks at people skin color, ethnicity, and status. In this generation, racism is a very big topic. Just because someone has a dark skin color, people judge them as if they are going to cause a crime. I could relate to this because I saw an article on the news, where the police was beating up an innocent dark man.

A brotherly love between two friends can be just as strong as an intimate love between a man and a woman. - agree
A true friendship could be more sentimental than love between a man and a woman. Relationships between the sexes could come and go. But having love between two friends is hard to find, hard to leave, and impossible to forget. I have friendships that would last me a whole life time. > A boyfriend who could potentially leave.

You can break a promise as long as you have a good excuse. - agree
I personally have broken many promises. In a korean drama that I have watched, a guy protects his lover from being physically and emotionally harmed by his parents by not keeping their promise. In result of that, the girl ended up being safe and away from danger.

Love is blind. - agree
Falling in love with someone is quite dangerous because once you are in the lovey dovey mode, you would have no idea what is happening around you. In the show, Vampire Diaries, Elena was so in love with Stephen,  she did not see the potential danger that she was in. When love causes you to be blind, it could hurt you emotionally, physically, or spiritually.

Stereotypes are often right. - disagree
I strongly disagree with this statement because stereotypes are inaccurate. In the movie, Mean Girls, they portrayed the idea of high school as a jungle. But ever since I experienced it in August, it was nothing like they described. There were no "groups". Ex) jocks, cheerleaders, nerds

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is a good motto to live by. - agree
This statement relates to the metaphor "A taste of your own medicine". I believe that if you created a mistake the same mistake should be made on you. When I was little, I took my cousins hello kitty markers because I thought that it was cute. Years later, my pens start to disappear.
